Our attitude is what drives the direction we take in life, and along the way we need to make English: Untidy Deskadjustments. Take some time now to think about small changes you can make in your attitude. Is there something in your job that you resist? Could you make “friends” with that aspect of your job? Are you in a job that you feel is going nowhere? Do you dread getting up in the morning knowing that you have to endure yet another day in a job you find boring, stressful, or just plain hate?

Are you experiencing problems with a coworker, or group of coworkers that make your work life miserable?

Why not take time now to see how you can change your perspective just a little? Perhaps you could adopt an attitude of believing the miserable situation is only temporary, and begin making plans to change jobs, get more training, or just thinking forgiving thoughts about your mean coworkers.

Here are some thoughts to take with you into the new year:

  • This, too, shall pass.
  • I’m right where I am supposed to be…for now.

  • Handle people with purpose. On purpose.

  • Forgive, but go forward cautiously.
  • I can do it.

  • I am worthy.

  • My boss is just a human being.

  • How can I do better?
